Scout Water Safety Program
The Scout Water Safety Program is a 30-40 minute water safety program run by a MCRC
Head Lifeguard. An American Red Cross film is shown then the scouts enter the pool where
the Head Lifeguard presents reaching assists and water information.
Scouts interested in earning a badge* may provide the Head Lifeguard a copy of the badge requirements. The age and the total number of scouts in your troop should be noted. The Head Lifeguard will try to cover as many requirements in the time scheduled. We recommend utilizing the Lifeguard for instruction and the Troop Leaders cover the simpler requirements. Please cross off those requirements you intend to complete on your own.
The Scout Water Safety Program is scheduled on the following days:
- Tuesday, Thursday or Friday after 7:00pm
- Saturday or Sunday after 1:00pm
- The program is not available on Mondays or Wednesdays
The cost for the Scout Water Safety Program is $12.00 for the troop
- MCRC Members are required to present their MCRC Membership ID Badge upon entering the facility
- Non-Members are required to purchase a $5 discounted daily pass
On the day of the program, the troop gathers in the MCRC Lobby then proceeds back to the Competition Pool 10 minutes before their scheduled program time.
Cancellations made less than (2) weeks in advance forfeit the $12 Program Fee.
If you would like to sign your troop up for the Water Safety Program please complete an MCRC Rental Request Form and submit it to the Rental Coordinator a minimum of 2 weeks before the requested program date.
Please call or email the MCRC Rental Coordinator, Sandy Tomazic with your questions.
