Rascal Room Youth Specialist
Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Rascal Room Supervisor, the Youth Specialist will be responsible for the planning and implementation of youth services and programs including, but not limited to: Rascal Room Services, the Before and After School Program, and the Camp Programs. Individuals must be able to work in a dynamic, customer service oriented environment.
Specific Job Duties:
- Develop activities that will take place during the operating day
- Effectively supervise children of all ages and abilities
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, guardians, and co-workers
- Direct parent/guardians in the proper sign out and sign in procedures
- Ensure the strict adherence to all sign in and out procedures
- Securely open or close youth program facilities
- Report any potential dangers to a supervisor such as facility, equipment, activities, and other hazards
- Enforce all policies and procedures set forth by the MCRC
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Prior experience in child care, early childhood education, or latch key programs preferred
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Ability to lift and move objects
- Possession of First Aid and CPR certifications and day care provider training
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License
- Blood-borne Pathogen Training
Hourly Rate: $7.72
Lifeguard
Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Pool Manager and Aquatic Manager, the Lifeguard ensures the safety and well-being of the natatorium, including patron questions and concerns and assistance with any programming which utilizes the natatorium. Applicants must have adequate water knowledge and training and the ability to work with others in a dynamic customer service oriented environment.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Ability to lift and move objects
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- Good organization and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and courteously with the public
- Required certifications: Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and First Aid
- Preferred certification: Water Safety Instruction
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, holidays and weekends
Starting Rate: $8.25/hour
